While stripping down the summer bike for a good clean and service I noticed some pretty severe cable rub on the top of the fork crown. When the bike was set up the gear cable was a bit long and rather than passing over the head tube it has sat on the fork crown. The wear has gone through the lacquer and into the carbon at the top of the fork. The question is, does it compromise the strength of the forks? Here’s a couple of pics:
